Today we presented our games to our 2nd grade buddies. The majority of them said it was fun, and said it had the right difficulty rating (4 star hard game). They said it wasn't extremely well made, but pretty good. Some wanted it easier, but some thought it was to easy. I will make some minor improvements, but not things that will change the game.
Today I colored the bottom of the box green (the field) and made holes for the bases. I am going to use tennis ball cans as the legs for the box to stand on. I have not yet made the "bat", but I plan on doing that next class. I will also make the top, with a hole that I can put the marble through.
Today we had our first build day. Mostly I was cutting my boxes, and fudge ring out how I will use them. I am going to make almost a half of a box, which will be colored green and will have holes in in it. The holes are for if someone hits the ball into certain holes they get a prize. If you hit it to the very back it is a home run and you get the most possible points.
Today I brought all of my materials I will need for my project in to class. I made a scale drawing of my game, and decided what the rules would be. I decided that the game would be baseball themed. The player will push a pipe, and it will hit the ball that you drop from the top of the game.
For my buddy I am going to make a game with a rubber band sling shot. Since my buddy Dominic likes baseball, the places you have to make with the sling shot will say... The hardest one will be a grand slam, the second hardest one will be a home run, the next one a 3rd base hit, so on. I will also put additional things, according to what he says on the questions I made.
